Terms of Service
These terms set out the rules that apply when you use Puzzled, including accounts, Puzzled Plus subscriptions and conduct.
Last Updated:
Key terms
Please read these points in particular. The full terms below explain each one.
- Puzzled Plus renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings > Subscription.
- Puzzled Plus is digital content supplied immediately when you buy. When you subscribe you ask for access to start now and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once supply starts. Payments are not refunded, except where the law requires.
- We may change games, features, prices and these terms. If a change materially reduces what you have paid for, you can cancel.
- We may suspend or close accounts that cheat or break these terms.
- Our liability to you is limited, as Limitation of Liability explains. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Puzzled, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services. If a translation of these terms differs from the English version, the English version applies.
Who we are
Puzzled is provided by Sylphx Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16438428). Registered office: 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. VAT number: GB 502 7862 95.
Our Service
Puzzled provides daily puzzle games and challenges for personal, non-commercial use. We may change, add or remove games, features, content and limits, and suspend or withdraw Puzzled or any part of it, for example for maintenance, security, legal or business reasons. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, we tell you in advance, and you may cancel and receive a refund for the time left in the period you have paid for.
User Accounts
You must be 13 or over to create an account, and if you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission to subscribe. When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Be responsible for all activity under your account
Puzzled Plus subscriptions
Today's featured puzzle is free. Puzzled Plus is an optional paid subscription that opens every game, the archive of past days, and stats for every game.
- Prices are shown before you pay and include VAT where it applies. Sylphx Money takes payment when you subscribe and at the start of each monthly or yearly period.
- Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings > Subscription; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for and are not charged again.
- Immediate supply: when you subscribe you expressly ask for access to start at once and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel this digital content once supply starts. You can still stop renewals at any time in Settings > Subscription, and you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable and we do not refund part-used periods, except where these terms or the law say otherwise. If something we delivered did not work, we put it right. If you live in Brazil, you may withdraw within 7 days of subscribing and receive a full refund of what you paid (Brazilian Consumer Defence Code, Law 8.078/1990, article 49).
- We may change the price of Puzzled Plus. We tell you in advance, before a new price applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
- A family plan covers the subscriber and up to three people they invite. The subscriber can remove people at any time.
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
User Conduct
You agree to:
- Use the service only for lawful purposes
- Respect other users and our community
- Not use cheats, exploits, or automated tools
- Not copy, scrape, reverse engineer or interfere with Puzzled, except where the law allows
Suspension and closing accounts
We may suspend or close your account, and remove or reset scores, streaks or leaderboard entries, if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms (including by cheating), for security reasons, or where the law requires. Otherwise we give you reasonable notice before we close an account. If we close your account without a serious reason while a paid period is left, we refund the unused part.
Intellectual Property
All games, content, and materials on Puzzled are our property or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any content without permission. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use your display name, profile picture and results to run Puzzled, including leaderboards and shared results, and a perpetual, irrevocable license to use any feedback you send us.
Disclaimer
Puzzled is provided for entertainment. We supply it with reasonable care and skill and as described, as the law requires, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that scores, streaks or statistics will never be lost or corrected.
Limitation of Liability
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for any business loss, such as lost profit or opportunity, because Puzzled is for personal use. If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and £100. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Changes to Terms
We may change these terms, for example to reflect changes to Puzzled, the law or our business. We post the new terms on this page with a new date. If a change materially affects you, we tell you in advance, and if you have a paid subscription you can cancel before the change applies and receive a refund for the unused part of your period. Otherwise, the new terms apply once posted.
General
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organization, for example if Puzzled is sold; we will tell you, and you can cancel if you are unhappy. You may not transfer yours. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in your local courts if you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or another country, and you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the place you live.
